Intentional tech

The dumb phone alternative

Giving up the smartphone completely isn’t realistic for many. Work, maps, banking and the group chat all live there.

The bedroom is different. It’s where the phone takes the most from us: the last hour before sleep and the first minutes after waking.

Habity is an alarm clock built to replace your phone at night. Set your alarm on the clock, and get a phone-free bedroom without going off-grid.

FAQ

Going phone-free, answered

Can an alarm clock really replace my phone at night?

That’s what Habity is built for. It covers the things we usually bring the phone to bed for: alarms, sleep sounds, a nightlight and a reminder to wind down.

You set alarms directly on the clock with tactile buttons. No app and no subscription.

Is Habity an analog alarm clock?

Habity is analog at heart: tactile buttons, a blue-light-free e-paper display, and no apps or notifications.

Underneath, it has the modern features you’d miss from your phone: sunrise light, sleep sounds, a backup battery and an optional Philips Hue integration.

How do I make my bedroom phone-free?

Start small. Charge your phone outside the bedroom, set tomorrow’s alarm on Habity, and let the wind-down reminder tell you when it’s time to put the phone away.

For many people the alarm is the main reason the phone comes to bed. Move the alarm to Habity and that reason is gone.

Does the clock need Wi-Fi?

No. Habity works without Wi-Fi.

Only connect it if you want to add new sounds, update the software, control your smart home, or set the time and date automatically.

What is blue light, and why does it matter?

Blue light is the cool-toned light from phone, computer and TV screens. It’s similar to daylight, so in the evening it can trick your brain into thinking it’s still midday and disturb your circadian rhythm.

Less blue light before bed makes it easier to fall asleep. That’s why Habity uses an e-paper display that doesn’t give off blue light.
